Hi, I'm Camille!
Golden Hour Live Art is all about turning celebrations into experiences through art. Our team of artists creates live, personalized artwork at weddings, corporate events, private parties and celebrations throughout Texas and beyond. From Live Wedding Paintings and Watercolor Guest Portraits to Live Engraving, Bottle Painting and other custom art experiences, we love creating those unexpected moments that get guests talking—and give them something meaningful to remember long after the event is over.
While Golden Hour was born in the Austin area, Houston has become an important part of our story. We’ve had the opportunity to create art at some wonderful Houston-area events, and with a Houston-based artist now on our team, we’re especially excited to continue growing our presence here. Houston’s incredible wedding and event community, beautiful venues, fashion, food and love of a good celebration make it such a natural fit for what we do.
So, Houston, consider this our official hello. We’re Golden Hour Live Art, and we can’t wait to create something beautiful with you.

All About Houston, Texas
There’s something about Houston that has always felt big to me—and I don’t just mean the city itself. The energy is big. The personalities are big. The food is incredible, the art is everywhere, and there’s this wonderful mix of polished and completely unpretentious that I love. You can get dressed up for an incredible dinner one night and find yourself eating the best tacos of your life somewhere totally unexpected the next day. Houston has a confidence about it without trying too hard.
Of course, I’m always drawn to the creative side of a city, and Houston has so much of it. Beautiful museums, gorgeous architecture, incredible interiors, fashion, florals and restaurants—it’s a city full of visual inspiration. I love that you can move from the elegance of the Museum District to the personality of Montrose, the beautiful homes and tree-lined streets around West University, and then into completely different pockets of the city that each have their own character.
But what I may love most about Houston is the people. Houston knows how to celebrate, and they know how to make people feel welcome while they’re doing it.
Maybe the reason Houston has always felt so comfortable to me is because, in many ways, it feels like coming home. What some of my Golden Hour friends may not know is that I actually lived in Houston for about ten years. I went to art school there, fell in love there, got married there, and started my family there. My husband and I were married at the Catholic church downtown and celebrated our reception at Brennan’s—memories that make the city
incredibly special to me.
I love that life has brought me back to Houston in a completely different chapter. The city where I studied art and started my family is now a place where I get to return as an artist and business owner, creating art for other people as they celebrate some of their own biggest moments.
So yes, I love Houston for the food, the art, the energy, the neighborhoods and the people. But underneath all of that is something a little more personal. Houston holds a piece of my story—and it always will.
a few stunning options for curating experiences
The tip top of my list is the former First National Bank building and has soaring columns, dramatic architecture and a very grand, old-Houston feeling. It lends itself beautifully to formal weddings, galas and high-end corporate events.
Very glamorous. Think 1920s Art Deco, chandeliers, dramatic lighting and skyline views. The Astorian specifically positions itself around Art Deco glamour and Houston skyline views, and The Knot includes it among Houston’s standout wedding venues.
Golden Hour fit: ★★★★★ — particularly Scene Paintings and fashion-forward Guest Portraits.
One I would absolutely put on your radar. It’s newer, extremely design-forward and has spectacular downtown views. The dramatic chandeliers, ceilings and interiors give it that immediate “wow” factor when guests arrive.
Golden Hour fit: ★★★★★ — luxury weddings, corporate events and brand activations.
I might would choose this venue if I were reknewing my vows! The RO Garden Club has Historic architecture, gardens, beautiful landscaping and that timeless River Oaks elegance. The property is on the National Register of Historic Places and offers both indoor and outdoor spaces.
Golden Hour fit: ★★★★★ — watercolor + gardens + architecture = pretty perfect.
Formerly Chateau Cocomar, this is the Houston option for someone who wants a European destination-wedding look without leaving Texas. French château architecture, formal interiors and dramatic portrait opportunities. I actually did a practice scene painting of this stunning place when I was just getting started.
It is jaw-dropping. The venue, that is!
Golden Hour fit: ★★★★★ for Scene Painting.
One of the greater-Houston venues I wouldn’t overlook. It’s a custom-built estate with a Southern-chic-meets-modern-luxury aesthetic, beautiful light and a polished wedding experience. It also has a very strong reputation locally.
Very recognizable Houston wedding venue with Italian- inspired architecture, vaulted spaces, columns, courtyards and a waterfall. It’s also a high-volume venue: The Knot says it has produced more than 5,000 events since 2009.
Golden Hour fit: ★★★★½ — tons of architectural painting possibilities.
A historic Mediterranean/Byzantine-inspired venue with courtyards and gardens. It’s much more intimate and character-filled than a standard ballroom, which is why I’d keep it on your list. The Knot also highlights it as a notable historic Houston venue.
A restored early-1900s Victorian property on Heights Boulevard. Boutique, romantic and full of personality rather than “big Houston ballroom.” I’d especially watch this one because it feels aligned with the move toward more intimate, highly designed weddings.
The glass chapel surrounded by trees is a star in the area, followed by a chandeliered ballroom. It’s repeatedly featured among popular Houston wedding venues.
