The Howleys’ Houston wedding was filled with garden romance and thoughtful details. Their reception at Brenner’s on the Bayou brought together lush greenery, beautiful florals, and elegantly set tables, creating an inviting setting to celebrate with family and friends. Soft colors and gold accents complemented the natural surroundings, giving the celebration a timeless, relaxed elegance.
There was beauty in the little moments, too—from guests gathering over a delicious meal to the couple sharing smiles throughout the evening. The tiered wedding cake and picturesque grounds added to the charm, but it was the people who made the celebration feel so special.
Golden Hour Live Art was honored to be part of the experience, painting watercolor guest portraits as the festivities unfolded. Each portrait captured a little piece of the evening and gave guests a personal keepsake to take home—a reminder of a beautiful celebration and the love surrounding the Howleys.

Hi, this is Camille, owner of Golden Hour Live Art. A few things about me:
Mom of two—My youngest is learning golf and the saxophone, and my oldest is starting high school and playing on the JV Dripping Springs Tennis Team.
Dog obsessed—Bentley, my standard poodle, is my best friend and constant sidekick. Tennis is my happy place—I feel most like myself on a sports field or tennis court. Creating art is the only other place where I feel that same way.
Unapologetically bougie—I love beautiful, quality things, great design, amazing food and thoughtful details.
Everything is a blank canvas—I’m always imagining how something could be made more beautiful, more interesting or completely unexpected.
My favorite part of creating? Surprising someone with something even better than they imagined.
Houston offers countless ways to experience art, from quiet museum galleries to colorful outdoor installations and evenings at the theater. For visitors planning a weekend—or locals looking to explore their own city—the arts provide a wonderful way to discover Houston’s character, culture, and creative community.
The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, is a natural place to begin. Its collections span thousands of years, bringing together art from around the world alongside special exhibitions. Visitors can spend an afternoon exploring the galleries or extend their experience to the museum’s two house museums: Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens, featuring American decorative arts and paintings, and Rienzi, devoted to European decorative arts. These destinations offer a different perspective on art, placing beautiful objects within intimate residential settings.
Another essential stop is The Menil Collection, where naturally lit galleries and surrounding green spaces invite visitors to slow down. The collection stretches from ancient objects to modern and contemporary works, with particularly significant holdings in Surrealism. Beyond the main museum, the campus includes the Cy Twombly Gallery, Menil Drawing Institute, and Dan Flavin installation at Richmond Hall. Admission is always free, making it easy to return and discover something new.
Nearby, the Rothko Chapel offers a contemplative encounter with art. This sacred space welcomes visitors to spend time with Mark Rothko’s paintings, reflect, and step away from the pace of the city. It is a beautiful complement to a day at the Menil, particularly for those interested in the relationship between art and personal experience.
