There’s something extra magical about a New Year’s Eve wedding, and Ashley + Joe’s Houston celebration was the perfect mix of romance, elegance and just a little bit of sparkle.
From the moment guests arrived, thewedding felt effortlessly sophisticated. A classic palette of black, white and warm neutrals set the tone, with candlelight, delicate details and touches of gold adding warmth and glamour. Even the smallest elements felt intentional—from the stationery and place settings to the champagne and beautifully styled reception tables. The result was elegant without feeling overly formal—the kind of celebration that invites you to settle in, raise a glass and stay awhile.
And then there was the fashion. Ashley’s bridal look was timeless and romantic, while Joe’s classic black tuxedo was made for a New Year’s Eve celebration. Together, surrounded by family and friends dressed for the occasion, they created that wonderful old-school party feeling that seems especially appropriate when you’re celebrating both a marriage and the beginning of a brand-new year.
The Springs Weddings & Events provided a beautiful backdrop for it all, with its grand architecture, bright interiors and grounds giving the celebration plenty of room to transition from romantic wedding moments to a lively evening reception. As the night unfolded, the atmosphere shifted from soft and elegant to exactly what you want on December 31st—a room filled with people celebrating, dancing and enjoying being together.
What their photos show so perfectly, though, is that underneath all of the beautiful details, this wedding looks like it was genuinely fun. It feels polished, but not posed; stylish, but still personal. And there may be no better way to begin a marriage than surrounded by your favorite people, champagne in hand, with an entirely new year waiting just on the other side of midnight.

If you’re planning a wedding or special event at The Springs Weddings & Events in Cypress, choosing accommodations in Northwest Houston will make the weekend much easier for you and your guests. The venue feels wonderfully tucked away, but you’re still close to plenty of hotels, restaurants and shopping—so there’s no need for out-of-town guests to stay all the way in Downtown Houston.
For a wedding weekend, I especially like the Vintage Park area. It gives guests somewhere to gather outside of the wedding itself, with restaurants, shopping and places to grab coffee or drinks nearby. Hyatt Place Houston NW Vintage Park is a great option for this reason, with spacious rooms, breakfast and easy access to Vintage Park. SpringHill Suites by Marriott Houston Northwest is another good choice, particularly for families or guests who appreciate a little extra room.
Other convenient options include Holiday Inn & Suites Houston NW – Vintage Park Area and Hilton Garden Inn Houston NW/Willowbrook. These are the kinds of properties I’d consider when arranging a room block because they keep everyone relatively close to the venue while still giving guests easy access to the surrounding Houston area. One recent wedding hosted at The Springs recommended several of these same hotels and estimated them at approximately 10 minutes from the venue.
If you have guests flying into Houston, George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) is the airport I’d suggest first. It’s considerably more convenient to this part of Houston than Hobby Airport; a recent couple hosting their wedding at The Springs estimated IAH at roughly 20–30 minutes from their recommended hotels and venue, while Hobby could be around an hour away depending on Houston traffic.
My biggest advice? Keep everyone in the same general area. A wedding weekend is so much more fun when your closest friends and family can meet for a drink, grab breakfast together the next morning and continue celebrating beyond the reception itself. Staying around Vintage Park or Willowbrook keeps your guests close to The Springs while still giving them plenty to do during their time in Houston.
